I got this for $20 shipped from JcPenney. The trays are just the right size for a family of 3, like Chinese buffet on the table in the winter. I prefer the small size since I am using it everyday, not just holidays.

Update: The covers cannot handle the heat and that would be a design flaw (=> 1 star deducted). All three covers had cracked after one-month use.

This is a good warmer/buffet server. You can tell it's pretty cheaply made, but in general, it gets the job done. I've used it 2-3 times now, recently purchased. Made an excellent taco bar for a party, and also worked well for a brunch buffet for another event. I haven't used it as a 9x13" pan warmer, but I imagine that would be fine as well.

My issues are that 1) the first one I ordered didn't work at all. Took it out of the box - and nothing. But with the beauty of Amazon - I returned it and had a new one in a matter of days.

The new one - it's a touch wobbly (but handleable) and that the light goes on and off, I believe when it's reached the heat point and the element shuts off. It's not a fine control, but food stays warm, so it's hard to complain.

In general, I'd recommend it for those that want a smaller buffet server!

That is where it is after ONE use - in the garbage. Used it New Year's Eve. Cleaned it correctly and, put it away. Got it out a year and a half later to use for the second time. DEAD. Took it apart to find scorching on what appear to be two electrical resistors. As the mechanism is extremely simple, I conclude this was made with defective parts. Of course, it was already out of warranty. Do not waste your money. Like many products I buy, this is another phantom. It is designed to appear to be the product advertised. Whether it works, or whether it has any durability, is entirely another matter. A sign of the times perhaps?
